چکیده
A new chemiluminescence method using flow injection is described for the determination of four penicillins, namely: phenoxymethylpenicillin potassium, amoxicillin, ampicillin, and ampicillin sodium. The method is based on sensitizing effect of these drugs on the chemiluminescence reaction of potassium permanganate in sulfuric acid with glyoxal. The different experimental parameters affecting the chemiluminescence intensity were carefully studied and incorporated into the procedure. The method allows the determination of 0.1-1.0 microg/ml phenoxymethylpenicillin potassium, 0.1-1.0 microg/ml amoxicillin, 0.1-1.0 microg/ml ampicillin, and 0.1-1.0 microg/ml ampicillin sodium. The method was successfully applied to the determination of four penicillin antibiotics in pharmaceutical preparations.

Potassium permanganate-glyoxal chemiluminescence system for flow injection analysis of cephalosporin antibiotics: cefalexin, cefadroxil, and cefazolin sodium in pharmaceutical preparations.
A sensitive flow injection chemiluminescence (FL-CL) method for the determination of cephalosporin antibiotics, was developed. The method was based on that cephalosporin antibiotics could enhance the CL reaction of glyoxal and KMnO(4) in sulfuric acid. Method development included the optimization of reagent concentrations and flow-rate. Under the optimized conditions, three cephalosporin antibi...
متن کاملFlow Injection Determination of Tramadol Based on Its Sensitizing Effect on the Chemiluminescent Reaction of Permanganate-Sulfite
In this paper, a novel chemiluminescence (CL) method for the determination of tramadol has been developed by combining the flow injection technique and its sensitizing effect on the weak CL reaction between sulfite and acidic KMnO4. A mechanism for the CL reaction has been proposed on the basis of fluorescent and CL spectra. Under the optimized conditions, the proposed method allows the measure...
متن کاملPermanganate-based chemiluminescence analysis of ferulic acid using flow injection.
A simple, sensitive and rapid flow-injection chemiluminescence method has been developed for the determination of ferulic acid based on the chemiluminescence reaction of ferulic acid with potassium permanganate in a nitric acid medium. A strong chemiluminescence signal was observed when ferulic acid was injected into an acidic potassium permanganate solution in a flow-cell. The present method a...

A rapid and highly sensitive flow-injection chemiluminometric method was developed for determination of 3 sympathomimetic drugs, namely, etilefrine hydrochloride, isoxsuprine hydrochloride, and prenalterol hydrochloride. The method is based on chemiluminescence induced by oxidation of drugs with acidified potassium permanganate in the presence of formic acid as a carrier. The calibration graphs...
متن کاملDetermination of ceftriaxone sodium in pharmaceutical formulations by flow injection analysis with acid potassium permanganate chemiluminescence detection.
Based on the chemiluminescence (CL) emission generated from the oxidation of ceftriaxone sodium alkali hydrolysate by potassium permanganate in polyphosphoric acid (PPA), a novel determination method for ceftriaxone sodium was developed by using a flow-injection technique. The calibration curve appears to be linear in the range between 0.05 and 100 microg mL(-1) with a detection limit (3sigma) ...
